I know what it’s like to be a primary school teacher with limited time and loads of curriculum to teach in an engaging and effective manner.
I also know what it’s like to be a mom with a massive to-do list and commitments galore.
My daughter is highly sensitive and spirited. We depend on a yoga lifestyle that offers self-regulation tools for life. As I’ve done with my own daughter, I make teaching yoga to kids easy and fun. I’ve done the work so you don’t have to.
I’m thrilled to offer a monthly subscription that can help make your life easier, while creating a calm, connected, and confident environment in your classroom or at home.
Just the other day, a 3rd grade teacher stopped me in the hallway to tell me that her class was getting nervous about the upcoming state assessments. She said that they started doing the Take 5 Breath as a way to calm down! A breath that I instructed them how to do over our morning announcements during my Mindfulness Monday and in my classroom. She was amazed to see them engage it and was proud that they had this tool in their toolbox! – Amy K.
My favorite part of Kids Yoga Monthly is receiving monthly themes with the yoga cards. My students and I LOVE the yoga cards!!! The visuals bring the yoga to life and the themes are so engaging and fun. I think what makes the yoga cards so special is that you include 3 specific elements that the kids could connect with. You include the name of the pose, a sweet looking child doing the pose, and a picture in the background. These cards work for all ages as well because the younger kids love looking at the people and pictures on the cards while my older students take more interest learning the names of the poses. When I take kids yoga training the leaders of the trainings have never used visuals of the yoga poses. I’m a visual learner so for me having the cards is such an important and valuable component for when I teach.
I also appreciate how you share your personal experiences and talk about how yoga and mindfulness have impacted your family. We are so fortunate to have all this accessibility and people like you to share their creative and imaginative ideas with people. Thank you for all your creativity and hard work. I always look forward to every month to see what theme you have picked. I also really enjoyed the mindfulness activities. I myself have a hard time practicing mindfulness so having a guide is super necessary. - Cheryl
