"As an Elementary School Counselor who was eager,  but hesitant to introduce yoga & mindfulness into my school, this was THE BEST place to start! The bootcamp broke everything down into simple, manageable steps. I successfully introduced & completed yoga & mindfulness lessons in my school this school year because of this bootcamp! HUGE SUCCESS!!" - Amy D.

2022 Bootcamp Dates are:

Pre-Call: Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. EST
Bootcamp Day 1: Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. EST

Bonus Q&A Call: Wednesday, July 20th, 2022, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. EST

School Yoga Bootcamp:

  • An immersive LIVE virtual program you can do from the comfort of your own home
  • Three days over a three-week period of interactive, get-it-done planning (4.5 hours each day)
  • Lessons, resources, special guest speakers, small group break-out sessions, homework, support, and community
  • Bootcamp will be hosted using Zoom, and recordings will be made available after each session.
  • Additional resources and recordings will be available within a private course area.
  • You will walk away with a comprehensive, customized plan in hand to confidently bring yoga and mindfulness to your classroom or school this year!

During this live three-day bootcamp, you will:

  • Discover ways to fund your program… even if the costs seem prohibitive, you’re not sure what options are available, or you don’t think your school will contribute.

  • Learn tools to get buy-in from hesitant administrators, skeptic teachers, and concerned parents… even if they think yoga is religious, view it as some “wishy-washy, hippy-dippy” practice, or simply value academics above all else.

  • Dig deeper to understand what’s culturally relevant for your community, what support you have based on any challenges and special needs, and what may and may not work for your school population... so you can create the very best program for your school.

  • Prepare yourself with a variety of engaging exercises and practices that students will enjoy… even if they think yoga and mindfulness is lame and boring or if they’re overly concerned what others might think.

  • Engage with the tools and resources to adapt to different age groups and maturity levels so that children find yoga engaging and interesting... so everyone benefits from the mindfulness and yoga lessons, even the most challenging students.

  • Create a workable, consistent plan that can easily adapt and fit into your day... even if you feel there is very little time to fit in everything that is already required of you.

  • Gain the confidence to teach the poses and exercises... even if you’re uncomfortable with the movements, don’t feel like a yoga role model, or generally feel "out of shape.”

  • Discover ways to meet the entire class where they’re at... despite challenges with skeptical students who goof off or try and distract the rest of the class from the activity.

  • Learn to present research and build strategies to convince parents, administration, and teachers that yoga and mindfulness can actually benefit children’s academic performance as much as their social emotional well-being...that way you can gain more buy-in and support from the major stakeholders in bringing yoga and mindfulness to children.

  • See what’s possible by hearing from teachers in the field who have successfully brought yoga and mindfulness to their schools... that way, you can see what a school yoga program looks like in action and have the confidence to create your own!

Participants will have plenty of opportunities to work independently and in small groups. Our goal is for you to get more done in these three days than you could do in three months. Let’s get it done!

 KIND WORDS FROM PARTICIPANTS

"I loved the Kids Yoga Stories School Yoga Bootcamp! I went into the whole experience overwhelmed and having no idea where to start my school yoga program. I had a ton of resources, but no exact doable, step-by-step plan—and just thinking about it made me anxious! The KYS Bootcamp was the most practical and organized workshop I've ever attended! The breakdown of the materials/days made sense and was easy to follow, and I was able to accomplish everything I set out to do in only five days—with no anxiety!!! It was also affordable, the KYS team replied to all my crazy e-mails in a timely manner, they gave input/suggestions specifically for my school yoga program (not just general statements—input specific for my program), and the gift certificate to help us start our program. AMAZING! Who even does that?! I've been a school counselor for over fifteen years, and this was one of the best workshops I've ever attended! I plan on being a lifelong member and supporter of Giselle and Kids Yoga Stories!"

"It was so thoughtful that Giselle made the personal connection to learn about me prior to the start of the School Yoga Bootcamp. Prior to the kickoff call, I was able to print most of the documents for the course and complete the Yoga and Mindfulness 101 course. I was so impressed with how well organization everything was! I enjoyed and learned so much from all of the course materials, lectures, and assignments. Getting the digital gift card was an added bonus of this course! I was thrilled with the ease of downloading the digital resources and the plethora of digital resources. Thanks so much to Giselle and Kids Yoga Stories for giving me the gift of designing a yoga and mindfulness program for my school! I can’t wait to implement my program from the first day of school. Giselle is one of the amazing humans I have met so far in 2021."

MORE KIND WORDS...

"I had the pleasure of being a guest speaker AND attendee to the Kids Yoga Stories School Yoga Bootcamp! I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn from her and the other community members at this amazing event. Giselle is an expert, and she structured this bootcamp so well and so simply. The breakdown of each day made it very manageable and clear. It truly felt like step-by-step instructions for your own customizable mindfulness plan. One of my favourite parts about the bootcamp—other than the amount of knowledge I received—was the community that we built. It was amazing to be in a safe space where everyone had similar goals in setting up a program that worked for them. We were able to bounce ideas off each other and provide feedback. It was the perfect place to be and the most wonderful group and community to be a part of. I am extremely grateful for this bootcamp and all that I got out of it! I will most definitely be attending again next year!"

“I have been looking back through all the resources and trying to move forward more with our entire school mindfulness program. We continue to use it in our After School Program when we are overly excited, and our 4th grade classroom is using it still. Our principal has agreed this is something our entire school could use, with all the stress in our lives. Hoping to help the teachers and our students as well have a great start to their days. Thanks so much for your support last year!”

I don’t practice yoga and mindfulness myself. Will this be a problem?

Definitely not! We hear this all the time, and this concern is one of the main barriers for teachers to get started. Please don’t let this stop you from bringing the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to children.

In fact, we have created a bonus course, Yoga and Mindfulness 101, that will help you begin to explore and develop your own practice. And working on your own practice is baked into every bootcamp session! Each day, we will be doing movement, breathing, and energy exercises.

Is there an opportunity to speak to someone about the Bootcamp before I register?

Absolutely! Feel free to reach out to giselle @ kidsyogastories . com and our team will set you up with an exploratory call with Giselle. She will be able to answer any questions you might have and address any concerns.

How will we connect?

We will be using Zoom for the bootcamp. Thankfully, over the last couple of years, many people have used Zoom and are comfortable with this technology. If you have concerns, please reach out directly. We will be having a pre-call that will also work out any kinks people may have with getting logged in.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes, each session will be recorded, and the recording will be available within the private course area. Only those who are attending this bootcamp will have access to the recordings. We respect your need for privacy. If you prefer, you can choose not to be on camera during the bootcamp.

I might have to miss a day. Will that be a problem?

We certainly understand that things come up. If you’re unable to make a day, you can watch the recorded session, do the assignments and homework, and catch up with us on the following session. You will still get everything you need even if you miss a session.

Will there be breaks during the day?

Yes, of course. We have scheduled breaks throughout the day so you can grab a snack or beverage and use the restroom.

Will you be offering this bootcamp again?

No. This is our final bootcamp! Please make sure you can make it because we won't be offering a live version in the future.
