The book is absolutely wonderful!! We are in love with it. My son has read it over and over again and told his gym teacher about it so his gym teacher asked me if they can use it for a week in their class during the month of November. Thank you so much and I have his school your information in case they want to purchase their own. Thank you again so much for your inspiration and motivation through these beautiful kids yoga stories.
Trish's Fall Photography: A Kids Yoga Autumn Book is a beautifully illustrated and written book about some time a child (Trish) spends with her father in several outside settings as they work on a school project. Each pairing of pages has a relevant, simple yoga pose which is incorporated into the story by being linked to a subject being photographed by Trisha. Each time “click” is written, there is the illustration and name of a yoga pose in the lower corner of the page. As a former physician who is training to be a kids’ yoga teacher, and as a parent of two young children, I have found this to be an easy story to follow that captures and holds the interest of children aged three to six years old. Young children can’t stay still for very long, so this book is a wonderful way of combining movement and literacy - a fantastic combination. The additional demonstration of paternal nurturing is the icing on the cake for me. I highly recommend this book. NB This review based on a review copy of the book.
A real treat for anyone looking for a book that promotes the health and wellness of their children. Trish and her father go on an amazing adventure as Trish is assigned a school project. They capture all the beautiful and exciting signs of fall. The author suggests fun and simple poses that anyone can do. Participate with your child for an even better experience!
The story was filled with vivid imagery suited for an age group of 4-8 years old. I liked there was a sample pose on each page but a few more would be more helpful. However, it gives kids the opportunity to be creative and create their own pose. I look forward to sharing this book with my class.
Truly enjoyed reading this book. As a kids yoga instructor and as a parent of 3 young boys under the age of 5, it's a great book to integrate reading, nature and yoga poses. It's perfect for class and for our reading library at home. I also really like the seasonal aspect to it, as it's a great read for when you want to discuss fall and the seasons with young readers/learners/yoga students. I would highly recommend (this and other awesome titles by Giselle Shardlow)
