It is not often that one comes across a new children’s book that reaches out over so many important topics of our day, but “Luke’s Beach Day” has succeeded in doing just that. Tackling vital topics such as recycling, the environment, children’s exercise through yoga, sun sense and cultural diversity! Wow the list goes on and on. This book is a great resource to engage children. The yoga poses are simple and easy to follow, even for my 2 year old! The story illustrated what children can do to help the environment in a natural way that didn’t feel like a lesson. I would recommend it to anyone! Having not read a book from/by Kids Yoga Stories before & as a Children’s Yoga Instructor in the UK, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to read Luke’s Beach Day! From the outset, the illustrations in the book & the descriptive words used would clearly appeal to children. The underlying theme of the book was incorporated subtly throughout, alongside a comprehensive build-up of what you would see & recognise at the seaside. The Yoga Poses flow very well & those used are suitable for a range of ages, & adapt very well to the environment in which the book is set. Incorporating a very useful reference at the back, highlighting & linking the keywords, yoga poses & a demonstration of the individual poses. Along with a variation for the different ages.
