Emily’s Day in the desert

Unique book. I like that Emily was prepared for her trip with her parents. She had a list of things she was hoping to see. It would be more helpful if there were opening, games, breath work and music suggestions to help use this book as a theme but to be able to make it a 45 minute class.

Yay for Emily's Day in the Desert! As a children & family yoga teacher it is great to see a book that unites storytelling, yoga, & learning and also has diverse characters. I work in Chicago with inner-city children & families and it is always nice when I can find or recommend a resource that my students can see themselves in. My students had so much fun going on the desert adventure with Emily & searching for the roadrunner on each page! I also love the variety of poses in this book; Giselle takes you through standing poses, balance, seated and ends with a lovely breathing exercise before the final resting pose. The resources at the end of the book are perfect for parent or teacher to review the pose list, animal names, learn more in-depth instructions for moving your body into the poses and delving deeper into yogic principals or breath, body awareness, & meditation.

Giselle Shardlow's story incorporates the desert biome with yoga moves. This very engaging story is about a little girl and her family exploring the desert. Being from the Northeast, I thought this book gave my daughter an idea about this habitat. The illustrations and story are realistic. Besides using it at home, as a Primary Montessori teacher, this book is perfect for an introduction to the desert. Highly recommend for teachers and parents!

This is an engaging story matched with fun yoga poses. My students loved copying the movements during the story and later without the story. Having a digital copy allowed me to save a copy of the book in iBooks and project it onto the screen for all the children to see clearly.

Australia Yoga Cards for Kids

It is hard to find Australian related content in programs for kids, particularly on the internet so I was delighted to find the Australia Yoga Cards For Kids that I can incorporate into my program and thereby make it more relevant to my students.
Thanks Giselle

Super Starter Pack

Hi Giselle, unfortunately a lot of it was not really useable as I am in NZ and the kids here will not connect with the seasons or the animals.

Hi Debbie Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find value in these three resources. I can assure you that we have many customers from NZ who use our materials. The Rachel yoga book uses pretty generic spring and garden keywords like sun, rain, tree, bird, and plant. Can your children do a compare/contrast exercise to how it's similar or different to their gardens? The Yoga Pose Cards have four categories - travel, earth, people, and animals - most of which would be relevant worldwide. The Simple Yoga Sequences have thirty posters that range from educational topics, to habitats around the world, to feeling topics, and holidays. Our work definitely takes on a global learning component (from my international teaching + tri-cultural background). Please reach out if you'd like to discuss further - thanks again! We welcome feedback! Giselle
Valentine yoga cards

AWESOME AWESOME
Had an opportunity to teach yoga to kindergarten students & they absolutely loved these ♥️ Cards!!!!

Great Selection of Animals to match to poses

I have found the animal yoga bundle really helpful as I started out recently to teach yoga to children. There was so much choice and I keep referring back to the bundle whenever I need to . They are easy to print off and make into cards . Sophie 😊

Chinese New Year cards

Brilliant! The children loved them and it made it so much easier to deliver the lesson with such lovely visuals. Thank you x
